Our Team

  • Luke has been a member of Wallan Gateway Church since 2017.

    He joined our team in January 2024 as a full time student pastor in an arrangement with the Australian Defence Force, in which he is being prepared for Army Chaplaincy, and will continue serving with us until end of 2026 gaining the skills and experience he needs for that role.

    Since then, Luke has completed a Bachelor of Theology and has become a fully accredited Churches of Christ minister.

    As part of his role, Luke oversees our Connect Groups, Young Adults Ministry and Men’s Ministry - but you’ll also see him as a part of the welcome team, prayer ministry team and sharing the word as part of the preaching team.

    He is married to Anita who heads up our coffee cart ministry and also serves in the kids ministry team. Luke and Anita have two daughters and a son.

  • Franco has been an active member of Wallan Gateway Church since 2009. Growing up, Franco was involved in the Friday night youth group and in 2017 became a youth leader. Franco has served in various roles throughout the church including the kids ministry, the worship team, the youth ministry, and leading a young adults connect group. Franco continues to serve in the church within these roles; however, his primary focus is leading the Young Adults ministry with his wife Emily. Franco is passionate about building a community of young adults that are committed to growing and disciplining each other in faith.

    Emily became a member of Wallan Gateway Church in 2024. Before this time she was serving at her hometown church, Gisborne Church of Christ. Emily has served in multiple roles at Gisborne church including the youth group, youth worship band, and young adults ministry. Now at Wallan Gateway Church, Emily serves on the worship team and helps lead the Young Adult’s ministry with husband Franco. Emily is passionate about community and ensuring everyone feels they belong.

  • Ps Tony has been a member of Wallan Gateway Church since near the beginning and joined our team as Associate Pastor in May 2017. He is an ordained Churches of Christ minister with a Master of Divinity. Tony was identified by the elders as a very gifted pastoral leader and was inducted as the lead Pastor of Wallan Gateway Church on December 15, 2024.

    Tony is married to Regi (our Safe Churches Co-ordinator and our Prayer Ministry Co-ordinator) and has two sons.

    Tony is passionate about Christ and His church, and specifically about seeing people healed in Jesus name.

  • Tessa Sedawie joined Wallan Gateway Church in early 2014, attending the youth ministry up until graduating.  

    In 2019, her first year out of high school, she interned with the church whilst completing Youth Alive Academy. In this year she established Little Blossoms and the Kidz Ministry of Dance. 

    During 2020, she completed the Churches of Christ internship 'Accelerate'.  

    Tessa has completed a Diploma of Leadership (2019) and a Certificate 4 of Community Services (2021). She is currently progressing towards the completion of a Bachelor of Ministry, and is working towards becoming an accredited minister with the Churches of Christ in Victoria and Tasmania.

    Tessa is passionate about creating space for young people to encounter the love of Jesus and to implement what they learn from Christ in their daily lives and relationships.

  • Paul has been a member of Wallan Gateway Church since 2021. In early 2024, he stepped into the role of Gateway Kids Coordinator, where he leads an amazing ministry team with energy and warmth. Paul’s passion lies in fostering discipleship and teaching the Bible to the next generation, in meaningful and age-appropriate ways.

    Paul’s ministry journey began in 2000, serving as a Kids, Youth, and Young Adults Pastor in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. During this time, he participated in three Christian mission trips—two to Ghana and one to Mauritania—which deepened his love for evangelism and cross-cultural ministry. In 2017, Paul commenced studying a Bachelor of Ministry at Ridley College.

    Paul is married to Sarah and together they are raising Jacob, Mitchell, Grace, and Emily. Sarah has an integral role supporting the Gateway Kids team, serves on the worship team and also volunteers with Little Blossoms, reflecting their shared heart for ministry.

    Outside of church, Paul works full-time as an IT specialist. You might also find him out in the bush on his dirt bike!
