Author Steven Furtick says, “If your vision is not intimidating to you, it is probably insulting to God.” The bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God. The vision for Wallan Gateway Church needs to be ‘intimidating’ to the point where we must rely on God’s faithfulness, resources and strength to see it become a reality.

So what is at the heart of this vision? PEOPLE and the great Gospel cause! Over the next three years we want to see hundreds of people coming alive to a life of purpose and meaning through faith and hope in Jesus Christ.

Our Misson

Our Mission:

Connect:
With Jesus Christ, His church and the community

Grow:
Strongly as a Christ-follower, and in understanding God’s unique purpose for us
in order for us to live a maximised life.

Serve:
With our skills and spiritual gifts as these are discovered and encouraged in ministering to our community and assisting our church to become a missional force in the region.

Our Dream

Over the last five years, God has given us this vision:

Our Dream:

Over the last five years, God has given us this vision:

We dream…

  • Of a community of God’s people where the hurting, the depressed, the frustrated, and the confused can find love, acceptance, forgiveness, hope, help, and encouragement in order to succeed in the journey of life.
  • Of a church that is such a rich expression of God’s activity in our world that people will want to discover him and his unique purpose for their lives.
  • Of a church where people grow to spiritual maturity and wholeness and are equipped to be a blessing to their community.
  • Of a church with regional influence generously providing encouragement and resources for God’s work in other churches and community organisations.
  • Of a church that has a strong prophetic voice in the community for peace, justice, goodwill and integrity.
  • Of a church that is constantly multiplying and establishing new faith communities.

As you can see, there is much still to do!

Our Theme

The Theme for our DARING FAITH Campaign

Building a Life of Faith

The Christian life is not about getting saved and then cruising from there into heaven when you die. No! There’s much more. Following Jesus is an adventure where we grow in faith capacity so that God can do extraordinary things through us. The ‘Daring Faith’ journey will increase your faith as you learn how God wants to increase you by trusting his promises. We continue to grow In every step of our journey through life with Jesus Christ until we become able to do even greater things than Jesus did in his ministry. In fact, Jesus prophesied this! (John 14:12). That’s where Building a Life of Faith is headed.

Our Goal

The Goal for our DARING FAITH Campaign

Releasing Seed for ‘Sowing’

The farmer has seed for bread as well as seed for sowing. He needs to plant for another season of harvest – he doesn’t consume all his seed for food. From the beginning Wallan Gateway Church, has had just enough seed for bread – we’ve been able to sustain ourselves thus far as God has blessed us in many ways. But now we need seed for sowing because God wants the harvest that our vision is showing us is waiting. Seed for sowing into our God-given vision will bring that harvest. The Apostle Paul said, 2 Corinthians 9:10-11 “Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”

So, Building a Life of Faith, and Seed for Sowing. It’s going to get exciting from here on in!

2 Underpinning Principles for our DARING FAITH Campaign:

 Mission

We are called to reach beyond ourselves in faith with the power of the Gospel.
God has created our church for those who are yet to join us.

Stewardship

We steward a story of mission and outreach that began in April, 2008 and a property
that has served the community April, 2013. We have resources that need to be faithfully
stewarded into the future and to do this we need to reduce debt and release ‘Seed for Sowing’.
