A little About The Journey So Far….

In late 2006 the Wallan area was identified as being ready for the establishment of an evangelical church with a heart to share the Good News of Jesus through evangelism and practical involvement in the community.

Early in 2007 a core group formed to pray and plan. In July, Andrew Adams (then Youth Pastor at Shepparton Baptist Church) was approached and asked to consider pastoring this new venture.  After praying through the issue Andrew, and with his wife Kathy, felt it was God’s will to accept this exciting challenge. Andrew was Senior Pastor of WGC for the first four formative years.

Wallan Gateway Church, a joint initiative of the Baptist Union of Victoria and Churches of Christ Vic/Tas., commenced in 2008, with the official opening service held on the 20th April 2008.  The church is located in the Wallan township with a 140+ congregation travelling for our weekely gathering from areas ranging from Wallan, Hidden Valley, Kilmore, Wandong, Broadford, Pyalong, Seymour, Whittlesea, and Doreen.

In April 2013, Wallan Gateway Church moved to it’s purpose built Church and Community Centre. It is located at 7 Commercial Drive, Wallan.

At WGC we aim to bring the good news of Christ into the community in a relevant and practical way. Our vision as a church is to bring the true meaning and relevance of the Bible into our lives, and to serve the community where God has placed us in a real and practical manner.

We place a high emphasis on the values of Biblical Teaching, Worship, Home Groups, Children’s Ministry and an overall focus on Jesus Christ.

Our three core values are to Connect, Grow and Serve.
